The Faithful Writer masterclass

Application to this masterclass is open only to Faithful Writer attendees, so make sure you register for The Faithful Writer conference as well!
As a masterclass participant, you will spend two days in residence at New College, University of New South Wales, with a small group of other Christian writers. The program will include plenty of time for writing, reading, sharing your work and consulting with Mark. It will be a challenging and packed two days, but you will come away refreshed, inspired and ready to tackle or finish that next big writing project.
How to apply
The cost of the masterclass to participants is $500 (this includes accommodation, meals and any course materials). Participants must be able to pay this amount. (The remainder of the cost is being subsidized by Matthias Media and CASE).
To be eligible for consideration, you must have attended The Faithful Writer conference and you must submit a portfolio of your work. This can be comprised of either:
- 10,000 words maximum of prose (this can be comprised of a number of different pieces: articles, short stories, novel extracts, etc.) OR
- 15 poems OR
- 25 pages of dramatic writing (scripts).
- Your work must be printed on single-sided A4 paper with 2 cm margins, at least 12pt font and double or 1.5 line spacing.
- Your name and a contact phone number must appear on the header or footer of each page.
- You must include a cover sheet with a summary of each piece: what the piece is, the word count, what it was for and where it was published (if relevant).
- Portfolios will not be returned. Please submit copies, not originals.

Portfolios and applications must be received by Friday 5 September 2008.
NB: The 12 masterclass participants will be selected by The Faithful Writer committee after reading the submitted portfolios. The successful applicants will be announced in early October. The committee's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
