In May 2007 CASE ran a one-day conference entitled ‘Human Need and Christian Care’. The conference focused on the question: What is distinctive about a Christian approach to human need? That is, what does a Christian approach to human need look like? Is it any different from approaches to care in other religions, or in the secular world? Who should be involved in it, and how?

On 20 April 2007, CASE ran a workshop for health workers, theologians, ethicists and church workers on the topic of ‘Sexuality and the Christian Worldview’.

The 19th annual New College Lecture Series explored the topic of Church and State. Three lecturers, Rev Dr Andrew Cameron (Moore Theological College, Sydney), the Hon John Anderson, MP (former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia) and Mr Kevin Rudd, MP (then Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade), examined the place of religious beliefs and expression in mainstream political life.
