1. Second CASE conference on medical ethics: Saturday 27 March 2010
We are excited about a one-day CASE conference to be held 27 March 2010 on the topic of Medical ethics: Christian perspectives on life and death. Please mark this date in your diaries. This is our second Sydney forum where those interested in a biblical approach to the issue of medical ethics can meet. The conference will cover a broad sweep of ethical issues in the medical field. We think it will be a vital day for students and practitioners in the health professions, and indeed, for all interested members of the general public. The conference will run from 8.30 am-4.00 pm and will be held at New College in Sydney (UNSW). For more info and to register now: Click here.

3. CASE directions
At a recent meeting of the CASE Editorial group we discussed future ideas for articles, authors and themes. In terms of issues 23-25 some of the options we are considering include theology of music, the academy and Christ, and the power of the word.
Also at the meeting I foreshadowed the upcoming issue of Case - #22, on the theme “God without Borders”. Our hope for this edition is to bring a range of theological and other disciplinary approaches to bear on the problems of life and the overlapping of local, global, national, and international spheres. How do we make sense of the various layers of community, solidarity and ethical relationships created by the relations of these spheres? What new historical conditions has globalization brought about? We have a stellar list of articles and authors including: Stanley Hauerwas, Andrew Sloane, Matthew Tan, Luke Glanville, Erin Goheen, John Shellard, Stuart Barton Babbage and Andrew Errington.
As is our aim here at CASE, we hope that these publications stimulate you to ponder and challenge many of the world views which are presented to us daily and necessitate much more thought than we so often give to them.
Your Sincerely,
Professor Trevor Cairney
